Goldberg’s in Dundee has a story as rich as its menu. The building itself dates back to 1913, originally serving as an Old English Inn and later as Pefferoni’s Pizza. When the pizza restaurant closed, the space became available, and in 1992, Richard "Dick" Duda, a local resident, seized the opportunity to expand the Goldberg’s brand, opening the Dundee location.
While both Goldberg's restaurants were founded by Dick, each location has always operated independently. After Dick’s passing in 2001, the business was lovingly managed by his wife, Patricia, their children Kimberly and Richard, along with Gene Dunn, a long-time partner. Gene later left in 2012 to take the reins at Gorat’s Steak House.
Goldberg’s quickly became known for its mouthwatering charbroiled burgers, a wide selection of cold beers, and the famous Bloody Marys. The homemade desserts, particularly the bread pudding, earned their own loyal following. Inside, you’ll find a hand painted mural of the neighborhood, historic photos that tell the story of Dundee, and a smiling staff that makes every visit memorable.
In 2016, the Duda family sold the business to longtime Goldberg’s employees, who continue to take pride in running a customer-focused, community-driven restaurant.
Whether you’re here for a great burger, a cold beer, or just a friendly atmosphere, we invite you to come experience the food and hospitality that have made Goldberg’s a local favorite for over two decades.
